The PR’UF Is On Fire
Eager to widen PR’UF’s reach and impact, the team headed south by southwest to Austin, Texas. Toting hot custom Burro Bags chock-full of promo tees and 800+ hand-assembled buttons, we were ready for BeerCamp, hosted at Emo’s by nclud.
To illustrate PR’UF’s expert community, we brought our own little interactive experience to the party: PR’UVING GROUNDS. BeerCampers received Expert Badges that they could then give away to those who stood out as experts in the field of good times, namely:
Four Loco – High energy party animal with just a smidge too much crazy;
Hipster – Stylin’ and profilin’ BeerCamper with designer glasses, vintage tees, and skinny jeans;
Big Pimpin’ – Smooth-talking charmer constantly surrounded by a gaggle of geeks; and
The Transformer – Calm and collected nonchalant who goes a little wild turkey after downing too many cold ones.
While people were reluctant to part with custom schwag they got the idea of recognizing and rewarding peers. We had more great giveaways – four different Merit Badges and free t-shirts. BeerCampers took our PR’UF teamsters to task, completing challenges and tweeting pics of the tomfoolery with the hashtag #wearepruf. Check out the awesome photos.
With the party going strong, it was time for PR’UF to represent. Our team, The PR’UF Is On Fire, was primed for some serious flip cup debauchery, with a roster of heavyweights (and lightweights): Pete Cochrane, Varick Rosete, Dennis Eusebio and myself. We rounded out our team with Conrad Decker and Jeremy Vaughn of CDev Technologies and Mike “Lift, Don’t Flick” Franqui as our coach. Hashalbum paparazzi Corey Grusden was on hand to capture all the antics.
We were unstoppable until the third round got the best of us. A cruel flip of fate robbed us of victory. As a consolation prize, we claimed a vacant table to the side and let the good times roll for the rest of the night, with a few Hashrocketeers added into the mix.
We had an awesome time promoting the good PR’UF name and are stoked for BeerCamp and SXSW 2012. Austin, thanks for checking us out! We’ll catch you next year!
